In a bay the Romans called the Harbour of the Nymphs, in the extreme northwestern part of Sardinia, there is a village almost four thousand years old, shrouded in legend, among the most important that the Nuragic civilisation left us. The architecture of their construction testifies to the extraordinary skills of the fascinating and mysterious Nuragic civilisation. The Palmavera complex is located on the promontory of the same name, one and a half kilometre from the sea, within the  Porto Conte Park, in the province of  Alghero. Built with blocks of limestone and sand, consisting of a central body with two towers and a bulwark, plus the huts of a village: today there are less than 50, but experts estimate that number to have ranged between 150 and 200 when the village was inhabited.

The nuragic complex of Palmavera is composed of blocks of limestone and sandstone and consists of a central body with two towers, a rampart and a village of about fifty huts. The village was built during three phases and the oldest structures date back to the 15th century BC.

The part of the village that is visible today is only a quarter of its entirety at the time of the Bronze Age, in fact the original huts of the village are about two hundred. Among the most interesting elements of this site, we must first name the meeting hut, which is the largest of the whole complex with a political-religious role. Inside there is a model of nuraghe and a unicum of the Nuragic civilization, or the cylindrical seat-throne in sandstone.
The main nucleus of the site corresponds to the two nuragic towers (main tower and secondary tower) enclosed by a partly collapsed bastion made of sandstone. The secondary tower has given its turn over time, unlike the Tower A, the main one, which is well preserved and can be visited in its fantastic and striking interior.
The end of the village dates back to the 8th century BC, when a violent fire probably ended the life of this place. However, attendance during the III and II BC centuries is attested.

We provide services of a touristic nature, with particular attention to the cultural and naturalistic aspect. With us you can book excursions to Alghero and surroundings or tours with customized formulas for several days and guided tours to the beautiful archaeological sites of Anghelu Ruju and Santu Pedru, two necropolis of the Stone Age, and the Nuraghe Palmavera, sites that we manage from different years.

Discovered casually in 1903 and explored in subsequent excavation campaigns until 1967, the necropolis includes 38 domus de janas located near a stream, the Rio Filibertu. The rock, limestone sandstone, facilitated the excavation of the tombs, by means of rudimentary lithic picks, but limited its regular development especially in height. These tombs are of two types:

  • in the cockpit (older) with irregular floor plans;
  • corridors (more recent) normally arranged in T or in a radial pattern.

  • corridors (more recent) normally arranged in T or in a radial pattern.

The architecture of the tombs is often enriched with details inspired by the houses of the living (steps, pillars, frames, false architraves, false doors, false windows, etc.), taurine horns, engravings and reliefs in the larger rooms, probably funeral ceremonies.
The findings found have returned archaeological materials of the Culture of Ozieri (4200 - 3400 BC) that attest to the first moments of use; subsequently many sepulchers were reused along the entire arch of the Eneolithic (3600 - 2100 BC). The domus de janas, sealed outside with lithic manhole covers, revealed collective burials of individuals placed above all in the supine position; however, there are no secondary depositions (remains of skeletal skeletons), examples of bodies in a fetal or ruined position and rare cases of semi-cremation.
The dead were buried with useful and expensive objects in life, ornaments in stone and shell, vases, lithic or bronze weapons and female idols. In addition, remains were found that testify to the use of funeral meals inside the cells and at the entrances.

This type of trip is best suited for those who want to fully enjoy a day in contact with nature and the sea of Asinara. The start will be at 9:45 from the tourist port Marina di Stintino, while the return is scheduled at 18:00

We will sail along Stintino then arrive at the first stop where you can do snorkelling in some bays, then we will move to some of the most popular spots like Fornelli, Cala Reale and Cala d'Oliva. From here you can take a little walk, swim or enjoy some tourist services like a shuttle bus. The shuttle bus is not included in the tour and to be paid locally to the operator that manages the service. The visit on the ground is a simple walk and entry to the structures cannot be guaranteed as not managed by the same company operating the boat tour.

After returning from the visit on the ground, you can enjoy a traditional and delicious lunch provided by the crew, washed down with a fresh Vermentino Sennori. You will also be served typical Sardinian sweets, coffee and digestive. Our visit continues sailing along the coast to meet, after 14:00, a pleasant thermal wind of low intensity that allows us to sail in full harmony in the waters of the marine reserve. Before leaving the island we will stop for another swim with the return to Stintino at 18:00pm.

Maddalena Arcipelago in Sardinia is one of the world's best kept secrets. Daily boat tours will take you around the fantastic islands of La Maddalena, a protected area. We visit the entire archipelago, stopping at beaches and having swimming stops along the way. The archipelago is surrounded by nature and history, not to mention breath-taking beaches and emerald waters, which all makes for an unforgettable experience for families, couples and group.

We leave Palau at 10:30am and cruise towards the wonderful island of Spargi. When the boat arrives, you can use the boat's doorway openings to take your beach bags straight onto the islands where you will see beaches that you can chose from for your first stop.

When you come back to the boat, lunch will be ready and consists of delicious shrimp sauce pasta, though we also have mussels as an optional second course. Once everyone has finished we leave the island of Spargi and go along the coast towards the island of Budelli for a photographic stop of the famous Pink Beach "Spiaggia Rosa". We then enter the natural swimming pool of Porto Della Madonna where the emerald color of the water will take your breath away. We then head on to the island of Santa Maria for our next beach stop, once again you can easily get off the boat with your things to sunbathe, have a swim or go on a lovely walk to the old lighthouse on the island. Our last stop varies—on Fridays after Santa Maria, we go to the Island of Caprera for a fantastic swimming stop in the natural aquarium at Cala Coticcio (Tahiti).

On Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday/Saturday/Sunday, our final stop after Santa Maria is in the charming historical center of the mother Island La Maddalena, for shopping and exploring. We arrive back to Palau at around 17:30.
