A tour of the clear blue sea and natural beauty in the most easterly point of Italy, in the most beautiful places of Salento.
Your driver will reach you directly in front of the hotel and will drive you to discover the beautiful Otranto and the former quarry of bauxite or/and Punta Palascìa. Your English speaking driver will drive you through Salento, but please note that a tour guide is not included.

The pick-up will take place at 9 am at the hotel (at the junction) in Lecce.
The first stop is Otranto, the most eastern city of Italy, a “bridge” between East and West, a place rich in history, art, culture and Caribbean beaches. You can start with the visit of the Aragonese Castle, a defensive stronghold of the city, a real masterpiece of military architecture and today a place of culture. The interior of the castle is in fact the site of interesting exhibitions that the public can access free of charges.
After visiting the castle, you can do a walk  in the old town, a maze of narrow streets and alleys, the oldest and most characteristic part of the city. A stroll down the narrow streets, which occasionally give way to the azure sea views, you are transported back in time, with small houses, plots of stairways, green courtyards, and shops of handicrafts and local crafts.
To refresh yourselves from the walk, the chaffeur will be a stop for lunch at the Farm "Le Creste", an ideal place to eat healthy and genuine products in contact with nature. Here we will taste typical dishes of the Apulian tradition in a warm and friendly atmosphere, a safe place to recharge.
As the last stage, you can choose between a former quarry of bauxite or Punta Palascia or both!
The former quarry of bauxite is almost lunar environment created by the presence of a former quarry used to extract the 'red ore' which has formed an emerald green lake that makes the view simply extraordinary. The color of the water creates a fascinating contrast to the surrounding rock walls, which shine with a beautiful deep red. The landscape is surrounded by vegetation with its bright green creates a wonderful place to visit at least once in their lifetime.
Punta Palascìa, which creates a meeting point between the Ionian Sea and the Adriatic Sea. From there you can enjoy a breath-taking view characterized by a beautiful lighthouse, known as one of the five most important in the Mediterranean, that stands out among the rocks and overlooks the vast almost never-ending sea.
The drop-off will be at 4,30pm at your favourite point.
Note:
The english speaker drivers are not guaranteed. It depends on their availability.

This tour will give you the opportunity to visit the four most significant towns in Salento: Galatina, Otranto, Santa Maria di Leuca and Gallipoli.

Galatina, a real gem of art, history and traditions. Of extraordinary beauty is, in particular, the Basilica of Saint Catherine of Alexandria, second only to the Basilica of Saint Francis in Assisi for the presence of many frescoes inside, which were created by Giotto's disciples.
Other monuments to visit are the Cathedral of SS. Peter and Paul, and the ancient "courtyard houses" and the buildings situated in the historical centre.
Otranto is Italy’s easternmost town and is well-known as “Porta d’Oriente” (literally, “Door to the Orient”). The splendid Cathedral, the Church of Saint Peter in perfect Byzantium style, the Castle, the Towers, the mighty Pelasgi Bastions and the Walls that surrounded the whole of the ancient city make Otranto one of the most interesting cultural destinations in South Italy.
Santa Maria di Leuca sits on the southernmost tip of the Salentine peninsula, bathed by two seas, the Ionian Sea to the west and the Adriatic Sea to the east. Santa Maria di Leuca is a tourist center famous for its colourful natural landscape that blends in with its majestic architecture.
Located on the Japigo promontory is the Basilica of Santa Maria De Finibus Terrae (at the ends of the earth). From the Basilica you can reach the old port on foot via two ramps of 300 steps each.
Gallipoli is considered the pearl of Salento: This Greek city can be divided into two areas: the old city and the new village, where the tourist facilities and modern buildings arise. The old part of the city is located on a limestone island connected to the mainland by a 17th century bridge. It is surrounded by defensive walls built mainly in the 14th century. It is characterized by a labyrinthine weave of narrow streets, home to traditional shops of local handicrafts, numerous impressive Baroque churches and aristocratic palazzi.
Also worth seeing are the Cathedral dedicated to St. Agatha, one of the best examples of Baroque in Salento, the Angevine Castle built in the 13th century and the Greek Fountain, one of the oldest fountains in Italy.
