Day 2: Agrigento - The Valley of Temples

During the journey, you will admire extraordinary landscapes until arriving at Rifugio Sapienza (1920 MASL) and the Crateri Silvestri. With the guide, you can hike along one of the Etna Park trail (2000 MASL) or continue with the cable car (2504 MASL) to admire the Etna Coast from above. Next, you will reach Torre del Filosofo (2900 MASL) with special 4x4 SUVs and alpine guides. Following, you will discover a lava flow cave, with the help of a crankcase and torch. The daily goes on to Zafferana Etnea (CT) to visit a local company producing honey, wine, oil with tasting of typical products.

Our guide will pick you up from your hotel and, on the way up you will stop in certain view points until you reach 2000 m. You will receive all the information you need about the history and the territory of the volcano and visit the sites of the last eruptions and some extinct craters.
From here you will be able to choose if you wish to continue by doing some trekking in one of the nature paths of “Parco dell’Etna”, at 2000 m, or if you wish to buy the Etna high altitude option, which will allow you to reach the summit area of the volcano (3000 m) with special transportation and accompanied by a local alpinist guide.You will then explore a lava cave with helmets and torches.
Before heading towards Taormina, you will stop at a famous organic farm, in Zafferana, for a delicious sampling of honey, wine, oil and other typical products.
