Day 1: Arrival at Essentia dimora rurale, Larino

Stop At: ESSENTIA Dimora Rurale
At your arrival, you will be welcomed by the gentle hills of lower Molise in the wonderful surroundings of Larino. After checking in, you can enjoy the afternoon at leisure to discover the vineyards and olive groves that characterize the scenery. We suggest if you would like, to immerse yourself in the traditional Molisana sweets of carnival, with the cooking class "Let's make two chiacchiere" which will let you discover the secrets of this typical Molisesweet and it will end with a delicious taste! The children, instead, can express their creativity in a workshop where they will learn to use papier-mâché, the absolute protagonist of the carnival. Then, back to the facility, a delicious dinner will delight your appetite and your evening. You can taste a healthy and delicious menu based on genuine products, from wheat to vegetables, cultivated and processed according to tradition and respecting the naturalpace of the land.

Day 2: Discover Larino

Stop At: Palazzo Ducale di Larino, Larino, Province of Campobasso, Molise
The day will start with a rich breakfast of typical products and homemade sweets, before immersing yourself into the history of the ancient village of Larino, where a local guide will explain the Roman domination of this town that sees its greatest expression in the Roman Amphitheater. The Medieval Village will welcome you within its walls through the historic Via Cluentio that will lead you to the Palazzo Ducale and the majestic Cathedral Basilica of San Pardo and the Assunta. We will then let you discover the village and its flavors in leisure, but we will remain at your disposal for suggestions, advice,and needs! In the afternoon the main attractions are the papier-mâché giants which will begin coloring the streets and piazza of the town with the joy and the lightness of the classical carnival atmosphere. The parade will last until the evening and will end with a mask contest where, if you want, you can be the protagonist! In the evening you can return to the facility where a tasty and genuine dinner awaits you before you can enjoy a free and festive evening among the masks!

Day 3: Pane, oil and wine workshop

A pleasant and relaxing breakfast will be the best way to start this Sunday! After the check-out from the facility, you can participate in the carnival event, where in the morning you will see the protagonists the papier-mâché giants and a variety of performances and jugglers that will cheer the atmosphere until evening, when there will be the long-awaited final award ceremony of the winning float! Alternatively, we suggest to immerse yourself in the local food and wine tradition with Pane, oil and wine workshop! On an experiential path in the Cantine D'Uva winery, located just 10 km from the farmhouse, we will let you taste the quality and goodness of the famous Gentile di Larino, the undisputed star of the local gastronomy, to continue to discover some culinary peculiarities of the territory, such as the Tintilia, the native Molise vine. Strolling through the rows of vines in the company of an expert guide, you will discover the secrets of the vine and the ancient art of harvesting. This overland journey reveals various uniquely interesting facets of the local landscape including the historical and legendary “Tratturi” which were originally ancient drovers' routes, and provide unspoiled and “Off the Beat” paths and places for the adventurous traveler.
We will start our adventure in a 4x4 jeep to enter the most hidden and least known part of the territory: our route will follow remote roads and mule tracks where we will reach the Tratturo Celano-Foggia, an incredibly impressive wide road thatmeasures 111 meters used in the past for transhumance, seasonal flock migration. The surrounding environment is unique. From here the Tavoliere of the Puglia leaves room for the first gentile hills of Molise giving bucolic landscapes and beautiful panorama as far as you can see. Surrounded by these wonderful sceneries we will stop in unknown places but rich in history as the medieval tower of Magliano and the rural church of Sant'Elena, a post station located on the cattle track of San Giuliano di Puglia. Continuing to drive this ancient route we will face impervious passage until you cross the river Cigno, in this point swallowed by the clays, where you will feel like you are on the moon! During the journey, we will let you discover the flavors of our gastronomy with a stop in which, if you want, you can taste the genuine products of a local farm. You will be enchanted by the Fondo valle of the Biferno river and by the ruins full of history of the Benedictine abbey and the Roman villa.

After lunch we enter the “Royal Tratturo Pescasseroli – Candela” that crosses "Altilia", an important archeological site with remains from both the Roman and the Samnite period. Transfer back to the beach and trekking up to the ancient fishermen's village of Termoli. Leisure time and shopping before our outdoor traditional fish dinner. The location allows a fantastic view on the sea. After dinner the bus takes us back to Ripabottoni.

Then you will have the opportunity to visit the "Museum of Sharp Irons". Here you will undoubtedly be fascinated by the mastery of the local artisan that for centuries he have not only created tools but works of art using archaic methods with great skill. After this incredible experience you will visit the "Casetta del Pastore" where you will see how the famous regional Caciocavallo cheese is produced. Here you can taste a selection of local products including wine, bread and cheese. To complete the activities in the morning there will be a visit to the "Museum of costume and ancient equipment". This is a lasting tribute to the skills and work of local women who over time have created extraordinarily beautiful clothes and accessories by hand. Most of the items were made by local women for their trousseau which was part of their Dowry when they were married, and it was once an important step in their lives.
