The nuragic compound of Lu Brandali consists of a nuraghe with several towers, a village of huts, shelters under the rocks and a giants’ tomb. Inside the huts, the pavements are made of clay, alternated with some traits of rock banks to which each building rests. Besides the wider rooms, suited for longer stays, there are smaller ones, often designed for particular uses. The life stages that have taken place in the parts of the village explored are referable – on the basis of the materials found – to a period that goes from the XIV to the X Century BC.

The nuraghe of Lu Brandali is of mixed type, with characteristics of both the corridor nuraghe and the tholos nuraghe, it is built on a granite prominence that incorporates into its structure and is composed of a main tower surrounded by a rampart. The entrance opens into the north-western portion of the latter, punctuated in its length by various watch towers that exploit rock outcrops, taking advantage of them in height

The Lu Brandali nuragic complex dates back to a period between the 14th and 10th centuries BC.
Like many Nuragic sites, it represents the historical heritage of Sardinia. The history of these places is still partly unexplored and studies are still going on. Lu brandali was discovered only 60 years ago and inside it you can see, in the rocky part, a nuraghe with two towers, still under study.

In the site we find also the Tomba dei Giganti. Located in the south-east of the village, includes the skeletons of about 50 men and women, found during the excavations.

For a full visit we recommend at least 1 hour.
